Olympians And World Champions Live Online From Long Beach

USA Swimming’s SwimNetwork, utilizing the technology of LiveSwim.net will be live streaming the men’s and women’s 10K race at this weekend’s 2010 Pan Pacific Swimming Championships from California.

Watch live starting at 9:00 am Los Angeles time on Sunday, August 22nd.

The cool waters of Marine Stadium in Long Beach, California will be filled with swimming stars from the non-European nations.

World champions Melissa Gorman, Eva Fabian, Alex Meyer and Chip Peterson will face Olympic gold medalist Ous Mellouli (shown above), Olympian and pre-race favorite Chloe Sutton and world championship medalists Fran Crippen and Andrew Gemmell along with FINA World Cup champions Poliana Okimoto and Christine Jennings together with NCAA champion Emily Brunemann and New Zealand star Cara Baker. The race is going to be very fast, very tactical and will push the athletes to the very brink of their physiological limits.

Unless one of the athletes take it out strong and pushes the pace faster than anyone can hold (hint goes to the man from Tunisia), the finish will undoubtedly come down to the wire like the USA Swimming National 10K Open Water Swimming Championships did, filmed by The Athlete Village from the lead boat during the men’s and women’s races.

Sunday, August 22nd at 9 am Pacific Time. Enjoy the race from the comfort of your home as the athletes race in the cool water reported to be 61°F (16°C).
