Mark Rosen announced the second annual San Francisco Bay 10K Bridge-to-Bridge Swim on July 11th.

“Last year, we had a very successful swim. This year’s race will begin at the Golden Gate Bridge and finish at the San Francisco Bay Bridge during a 4.4-knot flood. The water temperature for the swim is expected to be 58-61°F (14-16°C).”

“Only swimmers with extensive open water swimming experience should register.”

Swimming between the two iconic bridges of San Francisco Bay is limited to 45 swimmers. Competitors will begin the race between the north and south towers of the Golden Gate Bridge and will finish at the Alpha Tower (closest to San Francisco) on the Bay Bridge that connects San Francisco with Oakland.

The west-to-east flowing tide will help swimmers along the course so the estimated time will be 1 hour 20 minutes to 2 hours 15 minutes.

There will be two divisions: non-wetsuit and wetsuit, both which sold out early last year.
