Open Water Dolphining – Flat And Fast At The Start And Finish
Open Water Dolphining – Flat And Fast At The Start And FinishCourtesy of WOWSA, Huntington Beach, California.
Dolphining or jumping out and over the surface of the water at the start and finish of open water swims is a key skill for competitive athletes. Dolphining should be long and flat dives with your hands overlapped and chin down in a streamlined position. As you dive below the surface of the water, remember to kick hard, either freestyle kick or preferably butterfly kick in order to maintain the momentum.
