Open Water In The Air

Open Water In The Air

In light of the tragedies that have befallen Japan, there are numerous technologies that may enable the unfortunate to get back on their feet. One of the most fascinating technologies was developed by a Florida-based company called Aqua Sciences. Aqua Sciences‘ revolutionary technology extracts water from the air virtually anywhere that humans live. While it sounds unrealistic, the humidity in the air is extracted through 40-foot mobile containers to produce excellent water quality. CEO and visionary Abe Sher explains, “Aqua Sciences is poised to transform the water industry while making a positive humanitarian impact on the world’s capability to deal with crisis situations on an emergency or long-term basis. Its success will be measured not merely by the company’s profitability, but by its continuing contribution to the world’s safety, health, and quality of life.” After Hurricane Katrina in the United States and amid the tragic situation in Haiti, Aqua Sciences equipment was able to provide thousands of gallons of clean, potable water distributed in disaster areas for drinking, wound cleansing and surgical scrubbing. So while the open water swimming community thinks of open water being confined to oceans, lakes, rivers and bays, Aqua Sciences sees a lot of untapped water in our skies. The 21st century will bring many more surprising and useful technologies to help mankind deal with its world. A Wall Street Journal video on this technology is here.
