Open Water Controversy Over Unsportsmanlike Conduct
SuperSport of South Africa covered the controversy over the disqualification of one of open water swimming’s greatest ambassadors, Natalie du Toit. SuperSport reported that the 2008 South African team Olympic flag-bearer was disqualified for “unsporting behaviour after she was deemed by referee Peter Pienaar to have blocked the path of fellow competitor Michelle Weber” at the national championships.
