
Open Water Swimming Survey At Jamie’s Swim Camp

They will be banging out the mileage, swapping swimming stories and workouts, sharing hydration, feeding and transition tips, and getting motivated for their upcoming races and solos. From Wendy Ingraham famously crawling to the finish of the Hawaiian Ironman (shown below) to Paul Lundgren discussing his upcoming 76-mile attempt across the Sea Cortez, there will be a smörgåsbord of information and inspiration.
A compilation of this survey of the swimming campers based on the following questions will provide different perspective of what motivates, influences and worries swimmers who have swum all over the world.
* What is your age?
* List your previous major open water swims completed
* What future marathon swims to you have planned for 2012-2013?
* Have you ever been hypothermic? If so, when and where? Were you hospitalized?
* Have you ever been hyperthemic? If so, when and where? Were you hospitalized?
* Do you believe pain is part of marathon swimming?
* How often does pain play a part of your training or marathon swims?
* Can you describe the pain that you have felt?
* Do you believe injuries are part of marathon swimming?
* How often do injuries play a part of your training or marathon swims?
* What do you eat and drink during your marathon swims? How often?
* If you could start your career over again, what age would you start marathon swimming?
* What is the most difficult swim you would LIKE to do? What is the most difficult swim you think you COULD do?
