Patti Bauernfeind Making Good Progress In Monterey Bay

Monterey Bay has only been crossed once without a wetsuit by the legendary Cindy Cleveland who was also the first person to swim around Catalina Island.

After Patti Bauernfeind has met too many jellyfish for success on her previous Monterey Bay attempts, the Dolphin Club and Night Train Swimmer member is currently making great progress across the Bay after jumping in at 4 am. Oceans Seven swimmer Michelle Macy is crewing for her, so she is in good hands.

Bauernfeind’s start location was Santa Cruz Harbor and is swimming towards her goal at Point Pinos. Her swim – happening right now – can be tracked here. Watch her progress.
