Phillip Ryan And Cara Baker Take First Step To London At Epic
Phillip Ryan and Cara Baker won the New Zealand National Open Water 10K Championship on Lake Taupo at the multi-race Epic Swim to advance to the Australian Open Water Swimming Championships in March. The top Kiwi swimmers need to finish in the top four in Australia to qualify for the 2011 World Championships in Shanghai where the top 10 swimmers will earn an automatic selection for the 2012 London Olympics. As Cara said before the swim, in a statement that every elite swimmer can appreciate, “London is my big goal.”
