Polar Miles Defined Below 60°S or Above 70°N

Ram Barkai of the International Ice Swimming Association officially defined Polar Miles as an Ice Mile that is completed entirely below 60°S in the Antarctic Circle or above 70°N in the Arctic Circle.

On Planet Earth, the Arctic Circle is defined at a latitude of 66°33′46.6″ N, and the Antarctic Circle is defined at a latitude of 66°33′46.6″ S.
