Polish Strength Demonstrated in the 100 IM at the IISA 5th World Championship – Slawomir Wilkowski Leads Polish Team

There are 421 members of the International Ice Swimming Association – including 15 Ice Milers – and that depth of experience was most evident in the men’s 100m individual medley race at the IISA 5th World Championship in Samoëns, France this week.

Slawomir Wilkowski [shown above and below] and Bartłomiej Kubkowski went 1-2 on the last day of competition. There were a total of 6 Polish men who finished in the Top 11. With a 1:03.55, Wilkowski broke his own world record (1:04.17) that he had set in the IISA 4th World Championship. His teammate, Kubkowski, was not too far behind, capturing silver in 1:04.24.
