Pooling The Finest In Cold Water Swimming – Part 1
Courtesy of Irina Andreeva and Dmitry Blokhin of Murmansk, Russia.
When is swimming in a pool an open water swimming event?
When the pool is built within the frozen confines of a lake. When the water is neither chemically filtered or warmed. When the bottom of the venue is naturally made and surrounded by heaps of snow.
The swimmers at the inaugural Ice Swimming World Championships make swimming in the 0.8°C (33.4°F) water in Semenovskoe Lake in Murmansk, Russia seem so easy.
