The Red Carpet In The Blue Waters Of Cuba

The Red Carpet In The Blue Waters Of Cuba

Numerous swimmers will participate in the 4th annual International Masters Swimming Cup in Cuba to compete in some incredibly blue, blue, blue waters.

The International Masters Swimming Cup is held between March 25-28 at Varadero Beach, 90 miles east of Havana (see map below).

Varadero Beach is a 36-kilometer stretch of powdery white sand, bordered by a tropical green on land and a multitude of lovely shades of clear Caribbean Sea blue water. Especially for those swimmers from colder climates, the venue could not be more spectacular.

Sunlight Tours of Cuba (contact Jorge Estevez of [email protected]), the official travel agency of the 4th annual International Masters Swimming Cup, is rolling out the red carpet for the foreign visitors. The hotel resorts where the foreign athletes will stay are absolutely gorgeous.

The Federación Cubana de Natación is sanctioning the 3-day competition in a 25-meter pool swimming and a 3K open water swim on the fourth day.

Americans need a visa to visit Cuba, but the Cuban Consulate in Washington DC, in cooperation with the Cuban Federation of Swimming and Sunlight Tours of Cuba, has been very helpful and accomodating to issue the visas.

Enjoy the red carpet to a great open water swimming competition in some of the brightest blue waters available.
