The Remarkably Inspirational Advice of Darren Miller on WOWSA Live
Darren Miller has accomplished a lot over his career as a pool swimming collegiate sprinter, a bodybuilder, a channel swimmer, a charity event organizer, an ultramarathon runner, a motivational speaker, and marathon swim race director.
Originally from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Miller is now living in Palm Springs, California.
After becoming focused on marathon swimming, he became the second man, second American, and fourth person overall to achieve the Oceans Seven. Miller was the first swimmer in history to achieve the feat on all first attempts.He is also the visionary and race director of the 30 km Three Rivers Marathon Swim and was named one of the 101 Movers and Shakers in the Open Water Swimming World in 2013. He won the 2013 Barra Award by members of the Marathon Swimmers Forum.
He joined Steven Munatones on WOWSA Live on December 29th 2021. Miller discussed a wide-ranging number of topics from his crossing of the Tsugaru Channel, acclimatization of cold water and his “third boat” concept during his channel crossings. Enjoy the discussion:
