Remembering Fallen Warriors In Boston Harbor

The new Boston Frogman Swim is part of the growing Frogman Swim Series includes the original Tampa Bay Frogman Swim in Florida, the Golden Gate Frogman Swim in San Francisco, California.  Its inaugural event was today across Boston Harbor. Frogman Swim board of director and ambassador Kurt Ott explains, “The Frogman Swim Series strives to build national awareness of the Naval Special Warfare community and support the Navy SEAL Foundation whose mission is to provide immediate and ongoing support and assistance to the Naval Special Warfare community and their families.  The swims present a challenging endeavor to provide a small reminder of the hardships endured by our elite and silent warriors while encouraging others to support and donate to the cause.” 27 athletes took part in the inaugural 5 km event under overcast clouds as they swam between East Boston and downtown Boston across the Boston Harbor that started with a solemn ceremony for fallen Navy SEALs.  Boston Fire Department boats shot their water cannons high in the air throughout the event with plenty of help from the local volunteers and public safety community. Ott explained further, “100% of net proceeds go directly to support the mission of the Navy Seal Foundation. While US$2,000 is the ideal fundraising goal per swimmer, the majority of swimmers raise over that amount, many raise much more.” Official Results:
