From the 1998 FINA World Championships and the FINA Marathon Swimming World Cup to the Maratón Acuatíco Río Coronda, the Maratón Hernandarias-Paraná and Traversée internationale du lac Memphrémagog, Nicolas Knap has been traveling and swimming around the world.
He talks about swimming 14.4 km across the Strait of Gibraltar from Spain to Morocco in June 2019 here in an interview with Radio-Canada Québec. The Asociación Cruce a Nado del Estrecho de Gibraltar ratified his French and Canadian records across the strait in 3 hours 17 minutes 19 seconds, breaking the old record of 3 hours 17 minutes 49 seconds at the age of 45 in the 17.5°C water.
