Romance In Rough Water Makes For Smooth Sailing

The laps added up but one thing was for sure: workouts were always more fun when Cynthia was there,” explained Mike Lewis about his seriously fast, multi-national champion wife on Speedo’s Unforgettable Swims.
“But there’s one swim that stands out above the rest. It’s a swim of roughly 4 kilometers in the Pacific Ocean off the coast of Cabo San Lucas.
Originating on the beach in front of the Finistera Hotel Cynthia and I jumped in the warm blue water to swim to the iconic arch at Land’s End – the tip of Baja California. With each stroke, my mind was racing. You see the entire time I knew I had an important conversation I wanted to have with Cynthia on this trip and it was during this swim I was determined to execute my plan. So as we bobbed up and down at the tip of Baja, we lifted our goggles, I looked her in the eyes and told her I wanted to spend the rest of our lives together and asked her to be my wife.
I always love swimming with “CJ” – but this swim stands out as my unforgettable swim.”
