Romina Imwinkelried Enjoys The Maratona del Golfo Capri-Napoli

Romina Soledad Imwinkelried of Argentina finished sixth in 7 hours 28 minutes at the 36 km Maratona del Golfo Capri-Napoli in Italy on Sunday.

The 27-year-old from San Jerónimo Norte, Santa Fe, Argentina represents Club Atlético Libertad and is coached by Cristian Primón. She wrote afterwards, “This was the third Capri-Napoli Marathon for me. The first long run after two years and a pandemic in between. What a difficult day and full of physical and mental battles. Swimming alone from the fourth hour, with a windy wind, and a brave sea with waves damaging the fluent swimming and giving me dizziness until the end of competition. Many times I thought of withdrawing from the test, but I could beat my mind and body pain, which allowed me to touch the arrival pontoon. That was my win today, that’s why I’m proud of the work accomplished. Thanks to my family, friends, work team, sponsors and people who join me in every step.”

The second leg of the 2021 FINA UltraMarathon Swim Series saw the swimmers compete from the Isle of Capri to the mainland of Napoli in Italy.
