Sandycove Island, A State Of Mind And Place
The Sandycove Island Swimmers of Cork, Ireland recently launched its new website.From the small population base, the Sandycove Island community has developed 16 English Channel soloists and hosts a 10-day Distance Swimming camp in the spring headed by 2010 World Open Water Swimming Man of the Year nominee Ned Denison.
Sandycove Island has become a well-established proven training ground for English Channel solos and other marathon swims and with its mission now public, it is bound to create a marathon swimming vortex that will draw in an even greater number of athletes.
As it states on its website, Sandycove Island Swimmerse is a state of mind as well as place.
