Sharon van Rouwendaal Wins European Championships
Sharon Van Rouwendaal, winner of women's 10 km by lentv
200m backstroke is considered to be a very tough event among pool swimmers. The race demands a lot of endurance and is extremely tough on the legs.
Which is what Sharon van Rouwendaal of the Netherlands went to during the second half of the 10 km race at the 2014 European Championships in Berlin today.
The former backstroker who won medals at the 2010 European Championships and was a finalist at the 2010 FINA World Short Course Championships in the 200m backstroke, changed her coach’s plan during her race and pulled out a victorious 10 km swim today.
