The multi-lingual waterman from New York has created a wildly successful line of fishing rods, reels and supplies under the brand name SHU-FLY as well as maintaining his home base in Nanuet, New York headquartered at the SHU-FLY Bait and Tackle shop.
The SHU-FLY custom rods and reels are sold in many retail chains throughout the United States.
“I used the same focus and dedication that I developed in the marathon swimming world to create and develop a line of fishing products,” the Honor Swimmer in the International Marathon Swimming Hall of Fame explained. Considering his longest swim was 85.5-mile (137.59 km) triple circumnavigation around Manhattan Island, that is a lot of focus and dedication.
