Some Observations From The Olympics – The Wait

As open water swimmers anxiously wait for the conditions in the English Channel, Cook Strait, Strait of Gibraltar, Molokai Channel and Tsugaru Channel to become calm enough to make an attempt, we are reminded of many instances of the 4-year waits that many Olympic hopefuls undergo.

Day after day, month after month, year after year, these athletes train and sacrifice, none with the certainty or assurances that their Olympic dreams will ever be realized.

But these Olympic hopefuls forge on, marching forward day by day, hanging on to their dreams, waiting for their own time to shine.

Just like channel swimmers standing at the shoreline gazing at the horizon hoping for that special day where they came show their stuff.
