Soutter’s Successful Swim Is A First

South African Wayne Soutter‘s swim across the English Channel in 2010 was only a warm-up for his latest exploit, an unprecedented 17km (10.5 mile) crossing from the Mull of Kintyre on extreme west coast of Scotland to the Antrim coast in northern Ireland.

The 43-year-old who lives in London started from the tip of Kintyre at 11:19 am earlier today. He endured jellyfish stings and some cold rough water, and arrived at Port Campbell on the north Antrim coast around 11:30 pm.

His charity swim benefited the Community Rescue Services.
