It was a unique competition on the shores of Copacabana Beach in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil today.

Each swimmer did three 500m loops of today’s King and Queen of the Sea competition.

The 3 splits of the first swimmers were as follows:

1. Poliana Okimoto 6:52.52 + 7:03.89 + 7:12.67
2. Keri-Anne Payne 6:53.81 + 6:59.89 + 7:10.00
3. Alice Franco: 6:55.00 + 6:34.80 + 7:13.55
