Stancu Vlad Stefan, Scortea Ecaterina Win Romanian Nationals At The Aqua Challenge

Paul Georgescu reported on the firstRomanian National Open Water Swimming Championships on August 21st, in Constanța organized by România Swimming Federation in collaboration with Aqua Challenge open water swimming race owned by Razvan Florea.

Georgescu, who finished 13th overall, reported, “Many pool swimmers from the 400m, 800m and 1500m distances competed in the 5 km race.”

It was interesting to note thatFlorea is the first male Romanian Olympic medalist who later campaigned for the Social Democratic Party so that the students from Constanța can take swimming lessons. The event included a 200m race for 7-12 year olds, a 500m race for swimmers over the age of 12, a 1.5 km race for swimmers over the age of 14, and the 5 km race for swimmers over the age of 16.
