Stand Tall At Open Water Swims
Courtesy of WOWSA, Huntington Beach, California. The medal ceremonies at various events range from the race director handing out awards on the beach right after the last swimmer finishes to elaborate ceremonies with national anthems at world championship events.
The statuesque hostesses who gracefully escorted the medalists to the awards podium at the Shunyi Olympic Rowing-Canoeing Park during 2008 Olympic 10K Marathon Swim qualification races were remarkably of uniform height.
Or, were they? Upon closer look, their high heels were of different heights.
It was an attention to detail that many open water swimmers can appreciate.
