Stephen Redmond Is One Channel Closer To Oceans Seven

This was, by far, the hardest,” said Stephen Redmond about today’s crossing of the Catalina Channel in an unofficial time of 12 hours 39 minutes from Catalina Island to the California mainland. “My stomach locked up…it was horrendous. I never said so many prayers in my life. It was the worst experience of my life.”

But Stephen came through despite having just come off of a long flight from Ireland to Los Angeles with only had a day to prepare for the 20-mile channel. The famed Irish marathon swimmer now has four of the seven channels done of the Oceans Seven.
