Nick Olmos-Lau, M.D. (born 1945 in Mexico City, died 9 March 2018 at the age of 72) was a practicing neurologist in Washington D.C. born in Mexico City who was a member of the Triple Crown of Open Water Swimming and a lifetime member of the Catalina Channel Swimming Federation. The native of Mexico is also a member of the Half Century Club for his marathon swimming exploits after the age of 50.

Open Water Swimming Career Highlights

• On 12 June 1999, he completed the 45.8 km Manhattan Island Marathon Swim around Manhattan Island in New York City in 7 hours 38 minutes 5 seconds at the age of 53.
• On 1 September 1999, he completed a 32.3 km crossing of the Catalina Channel from Santa Catalina Island to the Southern California mainland in 12 hours 40 minutes 17 seconds.
• On 17 June 2000, he completed the 45.8 km Manhattan Island Marathon Swim around Manhattan Island in New York City in 9 hours 40 minutes 14 seconds at the age of 54.
• On 23 June 2001, he completed his third Manhattan Island Marathon Swim around Manhattan Island in New York City in 8 hours 58 minutes 7 seconds at the age of 55.
• On 28 July 2001, he crossed the English Channel from England to France in 13 hours 41 minutes at the age of 55.
