Swim Free Lives Up To Its Name
Swim Free has charity spots for Swim Free’s Triathlon and Ironman teams. These races include the NYC Triathlon on July 14th, Ironman Lake Placid on July 28th, and Ironman Lake Tahoe on September 22nd. All of these triathlons are sold out – with the exception of the Swim Free.
“We are now are offering a special discount for those who want to participate while doing good for other potential swimmers,” says Rondi Davies. “We have now significantly discounted the fundraising minimums on Swim Free’s entry slots but they won’t last.” For more information and to enter, click here
Swim Free’s mission which is to get everybody in the water, safely and comfortably. And its volunteers understand that getting everyone in the water takes time, resources, and equipment. So Swim Free started a successful program that provides free goggles and swimsuits to underprivileged children. It also provides learn-to-swim programs for children and adults while helping people overcome their fears of the water through its Swim Free Angel program.
Swim Free Angels™ are volunteers and individuals who provide support shore-side and in the water at open water swimming events and triathlons. Swim Free Angels™ were started by Swim Free in 2009 to comfort people young and old in and around the water, offering encouragement and coping mechanisms at swim pools, triathlons and open water swimming events around the New York City area.
For those athletes who want to participate in these events while supporting a great cause, please email Karlee McLoughlin ASAP at Karlee@swimfree.org.
