David Livengood was the fifth person to complete the Triple Crown of Open Water Swimming on June 28th at the 2014 Manhattan Island Marathon Swim.

The Oregonian is setting the standard for his fellow channel swimmers in the northwest of America. He started his Triple Crown in 2009 with a 11 hour 39 minute crossing of the Catalina Channel. He was the first Oregon male and reportedly the second Oregonian. His second leg was in the English Channel in 2010 in 13 hours 58 minutes when he became the first Oregon male to cross the English Channel and reportedly the third Oregonian. He culminated his Triple Crown with a 9 hour 54 minute circumnavigation swim around Manhattan Island where he was the second Oregon male and reportedly the fourth Oregonian.
