Swimming At High Tide

Swimming At High Tide

Dr. Harry Huffaker of Honolulu gave us his impression of Peter Frayne, a retired police officer whose beat was along the Dover waterfront who previously served as the secretary of the Channel Swimming Association.

Peter Frayne was so instrumental in introducing me to Channel Swimming. He is now about 90 and still he pedals his bike down to the seafront where he crawls across the cobblestones to enter the water for his almost daily swim year around.”

“He mentioned that it has become advantageous in recent years to plan said daily swim to coincide with high tide so he doesn’t have so far to crawl. A man with an impressive war record, it would be easy to write a book about his life. He is definitely TOUGH.
