Swimming At Snapper Rocks
Years before Chelsea Gubecka competed in the Olympic 10K Marathon Swim at the 2016 Rio Olympic Games, she was gaining valuable racing experience in shorter ocean swims in her native Australia.
The Honouree in the Australian Marathon Swimming Hall of Fame won the Mooloolaba Mile and the Milk & Co Queensland Ocean Swim Series‘ 3 km Cooly Classic on the Gold Coast. She was not the only Olympic marathon swimmer to compete in the classic Classic: Kareena Lee and Jarrod Poort have also raced at Snapper Rocks, the famous surf break.
