Swimming In An Empty Sea

Bruckner Chase is helping out at the Special Olympics World Summer Games, providing much-appreciated assistance to the open water swimmers who have gathered from around the world in Athens, Greece.

But in swimming around the Aegean Sea during his down time, it has been evident how few fish and other marine life exist along the coastline in the Aegean Sea. “The water is beautiful – it is very clear and clean, but there is such a dearth of marine life. This is the result of overfishing and why I am so passionate about getting people out in the open water so they can also realize this.”
