Swimming Over The Power Of The Ocean

Swimming Over The Power Of The Ocean

Photo courtesy of André Silva, Nazaré, Portugal.

André Silva captured the huge ocean swells off the coast of Nazaré, Portugal.

While we are not big-wave surfers, Silva’s photo above reminds us of one of the grandest feelings we have in the ocean. We love the feeling of swimming over large ocean swells, beyond the point near the shoreline and beyond its crashing crests. We love being quickly lifted up by a massive amount of water as we swim up the wave and then gently lowered down as the swell passes beneath us.

At those times, we can absolutely feel the absolute majesty and unfathomable power of the ocean.
