In Las Estacas, the Maratón Contracorriente las Estacas is an upstream 1 km river swim in a naturally beautiful national park of Mexico.
Held in the state of Morelos, the unique Las Estacas race is held every May and October where athletes can swim against the river current of the Rio de Las Estacas.
The fastest swimmers navigate the 1 km distance in about 13 minutes. But younger swimmers and masters swimmer often take between 20-40 minutes to swim upstream.
