Rick Seirer completed a 67 km two-way crossing of the English Channel on 27 August 2019 in 29 hours 46 minute at the age of 59 years 351 days. He swam 11 hours 56 minutes on his first leg and 17 hours 48 minutes on his second leg, escorted by Reg Brickell for which he received the 2019 Channel Swimming Association Award for the Most Meritorious Swim.
