On 15-16 June 2022, Stève Stievenart completed a 64.6 km two-way crossing of the Catalina Channel, starting and finishing at Smuggler's Cove on the Palos Verdes Peninsula in 28 hours 45 minutes 48 seconds at the age of 45.
