Taking The Long Route To The Mainland

Halestorm is a 6-person relay that swam an unorthodox 33.5-mile course from Long Point on Santa Catalina Island to Laguna Beach on the Southern California mainland in 19 hours 44 minutes.

In order of appearance, the team members who crossed the Gulf of Santa Catalina included Brett Rose, Tom Hale, Roddy Teeple, Faith Hale, Patsee Ober, and team captain Lynn Kubasek. The support crew included escort pilot John Pittman, observers Catherine Coy and Dan Simonelli, and kayakers Jamie Glazer, Eric Zuziak, and Rich Selin.
