Among the highest grossing charity swims in the world is the relatively new Tampa Bay Frogman Swim in Florida that may exceed over US$500,000 in donations* for the Navy SEAL Foundation this year.

But unfortunately for all those who registered for the event tomorrow, the charity swim has been cancelled due to weather conditions.

The national weather advisory has a high degree of confidence that gale force winds will occur and issued a small craft advisory. “Due to these conditions, we have cancelled the swim,” announced race director Rory O’Connor.

“While it is our goal to leave no man behind, it is also our goal to conduct a reasonably safe event. All raised money will go to the Navy SEAL Foundation as we’ve always done. We will still conduct a memorial ceremony (at Hula Bay, 11 am) with a party afterward.”
