Tape is used in a variety of ways in open water swimming – fro taping down your goggles so they will not be knocked off as world 5K champion Eva Fabian does during pro and elite competition.
Eva gets knocked around quite a bit throughout her races, whether it is in a short race like the RCP Tiburon Mile by men or at the world championships among her female peers, but like the warrior she is, she continues on.
As long as she does so with her goggles.
Tape is also used to prevent chaffing and irritation due to wetsuits and technical suits rubbing against one’s neck and other body parts.
Top Brazilian swimmer Filipe Alcântara is shown with his solution.
