Yasunari Hirai is Japan’s entrant in today’s Olympic marathon swim at the Serpentine.

The young man has been swimming throughout Japan, in America, in Australia and in the professional marathon swimming circuit to gain expertise and experience in open water swimming. He should be in the mix for the first half in what is expected to be a blazing fast pace for the first lap before settling down to a more reasonable pace until someone makes a break.
