French Creek Racing presents a series of 6 open water swimming races (800 meters each) from May through September in Bridgeport, Pennsylvania.

The start is at the Upper Merion Boathouse on May 20th, June 17th, July 1st, July 22nd, August 26th, and September 16th. Each race starts at 7 pm on Tuesday nights.

At US$15 per race or US$55 for the entire series, it is a great deal and a perfect weekday opportunity to hone your racing skills, work on your pacing, positioning, and drafting, and increase your navigational IQ.

The deal gets even better because participants have the option to stick around for a post-race barbecue dinner for the outrageously reasonable price of US$5.

Awards will be given for the series champion based on points scored in each race,” says race director and former USA Swimming national open water swimming team member John Kenny. “Each racer will receive a French Creek t-shirt and a goody bag, along with a race cap. Swimmers should be confident of their ability to swim 800 meters before entering, but these races are a perfect way to gain open water swim experience before your big triathlons of the season.
