While Jordan Wilimovsky of the USA was busy racing in the 1500m in the pool, the French team of Aurélie Muller and Marc-Antoine Daniel Frede Olivier were practicing on the Olympic 10K Marathon Swim course in Copacabana Beach at the 2016 Rio Olympic Games.

Wilimovsky qualified third in the men’s 1500m freestyle in a lifetime best of 14:48.23. Together with his teammate Conor Jaeger [shown above on left], he will advance to the finals of the 1500m freestyle tomorrow night. While his medal hopes in the pool event rose with that swift swim, his open water swim rivals are probably very interested in the 22-year-old American to swim another all-out 1500m only days before the Olympic 10K Marathon Swim where he is one of the medal favorites.
