Thar He Goes: Ned Denison Round ‘n Round Sandycove Island
Denison certainly walks the walk and talks the talk.
Beyond his impressive slate of marathon and channel swimmers, Denison swims year-round the the waters around Sandycove Island in Ireland – that ranges from very cool to very cold.
In preparation for one of his major swims, across False Bay in South Africa, he swam 1,185,520 meters… which was slightly higher than his 10-year annual average of 1 million meters. “There were many cold single laps of 1,600 meters each around Sandycove Island,” he explains.
