The Age-Old Question – Terra Firma vs. The Open Water
On land, it can be considered rude to outright ask a man his salary. Similarly, it is considered a breach in etiquette to ask a woman her age. But we found the open water creates the ambiance of the Fountain of Youth. Ask a woman her age after a channel swim or almost any open water swim, and age is generally never hidden. In fact, the older she gets, the prouder she deservedly becomes and the more respect she rightly receives.
Photo shows the Mighty Mermaids, a special team of very fast women where age and competitiveness are their calling cards. The team consists of Christie Plank Ciraulo, Nancy Steadman Martin, Lisa Bennett, Jenny Cook, Karen Farnsworth Einsidler and Tracy Grilli.
