The music ranged from solemn, slow beats when the swimmers were walking on deck before their races to contemporary dance tunes while they were racing in the 2-3°C water.
Fans and volunteers were smiling and dancing on deck, athletes’ names and backgrounds and strengths were highlighted and described by the announcers, and the entire venue from the ready room to the wet saunas was filled with ubiquitous energy and obvious electricity, showcasing each and every athlete from the slowest heats to the last SuperFinal.
A lot of that positive, pulsating ambiance was the work of disc jockey Magnus Stummvoll who was non-stop and always on his feet working and smiling.
