The Open Water Tipping Point Of Ron Davis
Ron Davis is an American open water swimmer from Florida who set the 70-74 age group record in Lake Cane in Orlando, Florida with a time of 39:50. Davis set his record when he completed a crossing in the lake, swimming for the first time without a pull buoy to aid him.
No equipment, no pull buoy…but together with a bunch of his friends from Lucky’s Lake, today was a tipping point in the open water for Davis.

Southern California native, born 1962, is the creator of the WOWSA Awards, Oceans Seven, Openwaterpedia, Citrus Corps, World Open Water Swimming Association, Daily News of Open Water Swimming, Global Open Water Swimming Conference. He is Chief Executive Officer of KAATSU Global and KAATSU Research Institute.
