They Had A Ball Honoring Michele Daschbach Fast

At the memorial swim for Michele Daschbach Fast last week, aquatic aficionados of all types came out to honor the quietly positive, always inspirational friend, neighbor, and swimmer.

Her family and friends, including many Olympians from various aquatic disciplines and the USA Junior National Water Polo Team, honored the Seal Beach swimmer with the Michele Daschbach Fast Memorial Ocean Swim. Being water polo players, the young women just didn’t swim the 3 miles from Sunset Beach to Seal Beach with goggles and a swim cap.

No, they took to the Pacific Ocean with the tools of the trade: water polo balls.

Olympic water polo medalist Ryan Bailey joined Ashleigh Johnson, Jillian Yocum, Tiera Schroeder, Eike Daube, Mackenzie Barr, Makenzie Fischer, Kodi Hill, Monica Vavic, Emily Donohoe, Alys Williams, Ashley Grossman, Rachel Fattal, Kiley Neushul, Mckenna Mitchell, and Melissa Bergesen.
