Thomas Allen Wins Two In Cyprus

Thomas Allen of Great Britain got the best of Mark Papp of Hungary twice at the 9th Cyprus International Swimming Marathon event in Limassol, Cyprus.

But it was the closest of margins and great competition on the two-day event that was held in combination with the Cyprus National Open Water Championships.

In the 5 km, Allen’s victory was by the tiniest of margins: 58:06.75 vs. 58:06.76. In the 10 km, Allen won by only slightly more in the 10 km by a mere 1 second: 2:00:02 vs. 2:00:03.

On the women’s side, Flora Sibalin of Hungary just outsprinted Danielle Huskisson of Great Britain in the 5 km race by 2 seconds. But Huskisson came back and comfortably took the longer 10 km race.
