Boy’s winner Thomas Lapointe finished in 2 hours 22.16 minutes and received the Fran Crippen Cup in honor of the late Fran Crippen who tragically passed away during a FINA 10 km Marathon Swimming World Cup event in 2010.

More than 150 swimmers participated in events that ranged from 800 meters to 10 km held over three.

Head coach Mohamed Marouf of CALAC LaSalle Swim Club was very pleased with the turn out, “With winter weather being almost over, this event is a good steppingstone to see where swimmers are in their preparation for the upcoming season.”

The event served as the selection meet for the Canadian team at the first World Junior Open Water Swimming Championships to be held in Toronto, Canada this August.
