Think Like A Lifeguard
The most recent tagline of the National Weather Service is Think Like A Lifeguard.
In collaboration with Bruckner Chase, the National Weather Service in the United States is focuses on coastal safety beyond the peak summer months – and beyond just the rip currents. He reports, “I am really happy to see Wave Safe and this mindset oriented around beach safety is becoming more integrated in what we want people to do to stay safe.”

Chase taught ocean safety to the young students from St Theresa on Leone, a village on the southwest coast of Tutuila Island in American Samoa. “They joined us on the NOAA Dangerous Waves film project to learn about beach and ocean safety while showing others what ocean safety and ocean sports can become. They are our Toa o le Tai – Ocean Heroes.”
